On the path to becoming a teacher, I became disillusioned with the career I had dreamed about since I was a little girl. The fact that I got more excited about decorating the bulletin boards than writing lesson plans and implementing classroom management strategies, tipped me off and set me on a hunt to find a new career. It was then that I discovered Art Therapy. I couldn't believe it existed. How had I not known about it before?! It was the perfect combination - helping others AND using the arts! I had always been a creative being. From an early age, I enjoyed making collages, painting, crocheting, sewing, and dancing. My heart felt like it found its calling.
The years have brought with them unexpected losses and numerous challenges. Through personal struggles with anxiety and grief, I have used art to heal and have witnessed the power of creativity in my life.
My vision for Leaves of the Tree, LLC is to share the skills I have learned to help others discover their self-worth, meaning, purpose, and joy in an atmosphere that is creatively-focused, safe, warm, and inviting.
Just as the leaves of a tree bring life and nourishment to the whole tree, may Leaves of the Tree, LLC bring wholeness and healing to your heart.
